Looking for
my Get-Up-and-Go

My Get-Up-and-Go
Just got up
and went
Which left,
in my life,
A horrible
dent.
I have tried
to find it,
I’ve looked
everywhere;
In the top
attic
And under
the stair.
How long
it’s been gone
I’m not
really sure;
For my lack
of élan
It is the
sole cure.
I can’t buy
another
Whatever the
cost,
So I must go
and find it
Or else I am
lost.
I’ll look in
the gym
And perhaps
in the pool,
With a
bottle of tonic
To act as a
tool.
I have to
get fit
For some
lustre I lack.
Please,
Get-up-and-go,
Do hurry on back.
