Remember

Hey
you, that person I used to know
Remember
when we were very young,
And
we jumped in all the puddles?
We
wondered why the sky was blue,
And
we painted creatures in the clouds?
Remember
when the sun was warm
By
the river and we gazed at our reflections?
Somehow
they've got bigger, and they're not so clear
Do
you remember that summer by the sea?
With
sandy hair and gritty toes
And
that smell that still lingers in the air.
And
do you remember when we stopped
Knowing
exactly what we wanted
And
you wrote your own story,
While
I wrote mine, a sequel to our past
And
now we pass each other by,
Like
strangers in the street.
