As those of you who have worked with me will know, I'm reluctant to advocate the services of a specific agent - not for any sinister
reason, but because so many of the good ones' books are already filled
and it becomes a time-consuming process simply to find one willing
to accept a previously unpublished writer. You can go it yourself, even if your chosen publishing house says it won't consider submissions except through an agent. All you need is a supreme confidence in your work, an articulate and persuasive manner - plus, of course, you must possess the knowledge of how to submit a manuscript. Having said all that, so many of you
have asked me to list a selection of agents on my website that I've had to surrender.
Be warned, though, that I am not responsible for what happens next.
All I will say is that the agents listed here are, to the best
of my knowledge, reputable and well-established - and I wish you luck.
The information on this page, and the listings of agents and publishers that follow, is not intended as a definitive guide, but rather a starting point. It's simply impossible to keep everything up to date on a daily basis, so please do check websites and writers' handbooks where possible.

well as comprehensive listings), consult the new editions of
